Developer Portal
In 2019, I had the pleasure of collaborating with SkillsFuture Singapore to develop their first Developer Portal—an API platform designed to share data, business processes, and services with the public, organizations, and systems.
Previously, data sharing relied on manual methods like internal systems and emails, which were time-consuming and inefficient. Recognizing the need for improvement, SkillsFuture Singapore sought to streamline the process. The Developer Portal enables them to foster innovation within the developer community, aligning with their mission of promoting lifelong learning for citizens.
My role in this project includes research, product design (ideation to prototyping), and content strategy.

The 5-steps developer journey.
To better understand the common challenges developers face when using a portal, I led a 2-day discovery workshop with 12 developers.
A key takeaway from the workshop was the consolidation of the developer journey into five distinct steps, each highlighting the main challenges encountered.

Technical documentations made simple.
Recognizing the complexity of the API implementation process, we worked closely with a content writer to simplify the documentation using bullet points and clear, user-friendly language. This approach has greatly enhanced the experience for developers as they navigate multiple documents in each session.
Self-service experience made possible through comprehensive guides.
At every stage of the API subscription process, the developers are guided with a status update to stay informed about their next step.
